About Me
미술과 함께 지질학을 전공한 작가는 빙하나 화산같은 지질학적 요소에 대한 애정과 관심을 갖고
작가의 상상력과 결합한 지질학적 상상풍경을 그리고 있습니다.
어느 날 서울시민환경연구소에서 주신 남극 사진첩을 보면서 빙하를 그리던 중
지금 보고 있는 사진 속 빙하는 이미 녹아 사라진 것이 아닐까 라는 생각을 했습니다.
또 내가 그린 빙하들이 빙하의 영정이 되는 것일까 하는 안타까운 마음도 들었습니다.
작가는 밤 하늘의 별빛이 과거의 별에서 온 것이듯 지금 우리가 보고 있는 사진 속 빙하도 과거의 것이 되지 않길 바라는 마음으로 빙하와 빙산 등을 그리고 있습니다.
Having majored in geology with art, I was fond of and interested in geological elements such as glaciers and volcanoes. I'm painting geological imagination combined with the artist's imagination.
One day, I was drawing a glacier while looking at the photo album of Antarctica that the Seoul Citizens' Environmental Research Institute gave me
I thought that the glacier in the picture looking at has already melted and disappeared.
Now I am painting glaciers and icebergs in the hope that the glaciers in the picture that we're looking at now don't become anything of the past.
